Connect your Gemini credentials

Prepare a merchant-owned Google API key for Getail’s AI-assisted features.

Getail ·

Getail uses merchant-provided Gemini credentials for its AI features. Google usage costs and quotas are separate from your Getail subscription. This connection does not enroll your products in Gemini shopping results.

Before adding a key

Use a Google project controlled by your business. Review the provider’s current access, billing and data-use terms. Assign the minimum access needed and make sure someone can revoke or rotate the credential.

Never put a key in a storefront page, theme source, public repository, support email or screenshot. Enter it only in the authenticated Getail configuration flow provided by the release you are testing.

Verify the connection

Select only a model supported by the current Getail release. Model availability changes; do not copy a retired model name from an old tutorial. Run a small test, then confirm that training and a grounded response both succeed. A saved key alone is not evidence of a working connection.

If a request fails, check the reported error for an invalid key, unavailable model, quota or billing restriction. Do not repeatedly train a large catalog to diagnose a connection issue.

Protect it over time

Rotate the key when staff or access needs change. Retest after rotation and monitor provider usage. If a key was exposed, revoke it at the provider first and contact support without including the key itself.
