Prepare local availability and Merchant Center
Check variant, offer and location mappings before publishing local inventory.
Merchant Center distribution remains in Getail’s release scope. Publishing depends on the verified release, Google account access and a valid setup for your store. Do not treat this checklist as confirmation that your account is eligible or that a feed has been accepted.
Map the right records
Record the intended market and language, each product variant’s actual Merchant offer identifier, and each location’s external store code. A Shopify location ID is not automatically the right Google store code. Different variants should not be combined into one offer without a valid reason.
Compare the inventory
Choose a few variants with different stock levels across locations. Compare the Shopify inventory, the prepared feed and the results reported by the destination. Check an out-of-stock item and a catalog larger than the first processing batch.
Check publication outcomes
Review per-item errors and the latest successful update. A job starting is not proof of publication, and publication is not proof of visibility in shopping results. Retry only after understanding the failure and correcting the mapping or permissions.
This channel is not a direct OpenAI feed, universal agent API, or a promise of ranking in AI answers.
Connect availability to a safe action
For pickup, the flow requires explicit confirmation before creating a location-specific inventory hold and a draft order. Test the requested variant and location again at confirmation. Check that expiry and the recovery job release the hold and remove its draft order; there is no shopper self-service cancellation flow yet.
This is not Shopify’s native pickup fulfillment workflow. A confirmed hold does not mean an order is ready for collection. The merchant must communicate the next steps; do not tell a shopper to collect an item merely because the draft order exists.
